Bob Flider is staying busy and having fun as director of the Illinois Department of Agriculture.
What does he have in his ag arsenal?
“I think from a regulatory standpoint, certainly we want to do everything we can to be as efficient and business-friendly a regulator as we can. At the same time, we still have the fiscal challenges that our state faces,” says Flider. “The General Assembly passed a flat budget for us (last year). That was a significant victory, compared to the cuts we had in recent years.”
