EAFD Facebook PhotoA fire late Saturday night has damaged an East Alton home.  At about 11pm, firefighters responded to a home in the 300 block of Job Street, which is a dead-end Street near the Global Brass and Copper facility.  No injuries were reported.

East Alton Fire Chief Rodney Palmer tells The Big Z what his crews saw as they responded to the alarm.

He says the house is still structurally sound, but some walls will need to be replaced.  The house is a rental unit and a family was moving out, so there were few belongings left in the house when it caught fire, according to Palmer.  Crews from Wood River, Alton, Rosewood Heights, Alton Memorial Ambulance, and Roxana assisted the East Alton Fire Department.
