The story of what an Illinois family found in the rubble of their home is spreading across the country.  Bill and Shirley Phelps lost their mobile home when an EF 4 tornado ripped through the town of Washington last month, killing two people.  One item they never thought they'd find was the Purple Heart medal awarded to Shirley's father for his military service.

But after a few days, the "Peoria Journal Star" says they gathered a crew of veterans to help sift through the destruction and the three-and-a-half-inch tall medal was finally found.
