Dunn won't be a new face around SIU. He was chairman of the Carbondale campus education administration department ten years ago. He left that job to head up the Illinois State Board of Education in 2004. Dunn was president of Murray State University in Kentucky from 2006 until May of last year when he accepted the position at Youngstown State. Poshard has served as the SIU President since 2005, after serving five terms in Congress and running a failed attempt for governor, losing to George Ryan in 2008.
