Illinois deer hunters are set to take aim for the second and final weekend of the firearm deer season this Thursday through Sunday.  They harvested 55-thousand-600 deer during the first hunting weekend a few weeks ago, and that was down considerably from last year.

Tim Schweizer is with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources:
says things looked a bit better in southern Illinois, where the weather wasn't as bad.  Hunters took 72-thousand-100 deer during the first weekend of firearm deer hunting season last year.
