Set the date for May 31 if you have any hazardous waste lying around the house that you want to get rid of. The first hazardous waste collection drive in several years will be held at the Phillips 66 Wood River Refinery that Saturday from 8am-3pm. You can find the site halfway between Shop n’ Save and the Illinois 255 interchange on Route 143.
Leah Dettmers says finding a place to dispose of hazardous waste has been difficult at best in recent years. She expects to be busy that day.
