The Riverbend should come out of the extreme cold right over the next day or so, and car care experts say you may have learned a bit about your car’s weaknesses in recent days. With temperatures below zero over the past couple of days, the manager at Andy’s Tire and Auto Center at Alton Square has been doing a brisk business on batteries. Chuck Tucker says transmission problems can become evident, especially if you get stuck and try to rock the car back and forth to free it from the snow.
He also says you may notice your heater isn’t working as well as it once was.

Tucket says it's also important to visually inspect your tires. Look for and remove any foreign objects or debris that might have become wedged between the treads. Always check for irregular wear patterns, as that may mean your tires need rotating and/or your wheels need to be realigned.
