A local man running for a state office is cleaning up after his office was vandalized over the weekend. Democrat Josh Evans of Jerseyville believes his headquarters was targeted over the weekend, and it was possibly politically motivated.
Evans, who is running against incumbent Republican C.D. Davidsmeyer of Jacksonville, tells The Big Z someone threw a rock through the window of his office at 206 State Street, which is the main north – south artery through town.

He says there was also a recent incident in which his car was vandalized while he was campaigning in Jacksonville. Jerseyville Police Chief Brad Blackorby confirms Evans’ office was vandalized, but that there were other vandalism incidents in town that are also being investigated. He says until he investigates the entirety of the situation, he cannot say definitively if it was a targeted attack.
