A Brighton Man could spend up to a decade in prison for committing a crime involving a gun and drugs. 30-year-old Ryan Richard Duckett pled guilty Thursday to the charge of Unlawful Possession of a firearm by an Unlawful User of a Controlled Substance. The charge carries a maximum of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and three years of supervised release. According to court records Duckett admitted that on February 6th, 2013, in Brighton he possessed a semi automatic rifle while under the influence of cocaine and marijuanna. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Drug Enforcement Administration and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney William E. Coonan. Sentencing is set for January 12, 2016 at the United States District Court in Benton.
