The Independence celebrations wrap up tonight around the area with fireworks displays in Grafton, Fieldon and Brighton. The celebration in Brighton is relatively new…now in its fourth year…after several years of no official party. The party begins at Schneider Park on Highway 267-111 at 4pm and concludes with fireworks at dusk.
Organizer John Bramley says the family event is great for the town:

Food and drink will be for sale on the grounds, and Bramley says they are also raffling off a playhouse to benefit park programs and the winner will be drawn just before the fireworks display. If you can’t make it to Brighton, there will also be fireworks tonight at the Grafton riverfront or in Fieldon…both at dusk. Fair St. Louis also concludes tonight in Forest Park.
