Homeowners in Bethalto will have a bit more leeway in the placement of pools in their backyards, as a change in zoning has been approved. The village has been updating all of its codes, and this week revised those addressing the placement of pools, especially on corner lots.
Bethalto Building and Zoning Administrator Rich Mersinger says they have been making progress on cleaning up the rules.

The village board also approved an ordinance creating a Class F Spa Liquor License for a new business called The Point that will be opening on North Prairie Street.
