Thanks to a new ordinance passed last year, Alton chicken owners don't have to hide their birds anymore. Backyard chickens in an urban setting will be the topic of a workshop tomorrow. The trend is picking up steam after the city legalized the practice last year.
The La Vista Ecological Learning Center in Godfrey will be hosting the event from 1:30-3:30pm. Alton chicken activist Felicia Breen says urban chicken enthusiast Bill Ruppert will host the discussion.
