A new apartment complex has opened adjacent to Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey.  A ribbon cutting was held on Tuesday to formally open the Trailblazer Commons student housing complex.  Contegra is the private owner of the development although it was designed with Lewis and Clark students in mind.

Located just north of the campus, the 21-unit complex is at capacity.  Riverbend Growth Association President Monica Bristow says it’s a great fit:

By state law, a community college cannot own or operate student housing, so a few years ago Lewis and Clark officials began talks with potential developers to gauge interest in the project.  The RBGA coordinated yesterday’s ribbon cutting.
