Ameren Illinois Utilities is trying to make a case for a rate increase to deliver electricity. “Somebody who uses about 10,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year,” spokesman Stacey Shangraw says, “would pay an additional $6.37 to $9.55 per month beginning in 2015.
Shangraw says the increase, for maintaining and modernizing company infrastructure, is subject to approval, denial, or modification by the Illinois Commerce Commission. She says that decision should come around December.
