The possibility of a new connector road between Alton and Godfrey will be the topic of another meeting today. From 4-7pm at Alton High School, representatives from the Illinois Department of Transportation and their consultants will be on hand to explain the current status of the project to the public, and to receive input on any existing traffic concerns they may have.
An Alton-Godfrey Expressway may one day run from the Homer Adams Parkway to north of Route 255. IDOT Spokesman Cindy Stafford says several options are being considered.

Future traffic projections show there will eventually be a need for another north-south connection between U.S. 67 and Illinois 255. There will be no formal presentation, as it is an open-house format.
