Fabio Zanon came to international prominence in 1996 as the First Prize winner of the 30th Francisco Tarrega Prize in Spain and the 14th Guitar Foundation of America International Guitar Competition held in St. Louis in the space of a few weeks. His albums of Villa-Lobos and Scarlatti have been hailed benchmark recordings. In 2005 he was awarded the Carlos Gomes Prize for being the best solo performer in Brazil among all musicians. Presented in Collaboration with the Hispanic Arts Council.
