About this event
The Sierra Club staff have been working on the Green Business Alliance committee, which is interested in certifying businesses as being green ~ meaning we aspire to disseminate the knowledge and develop the techniques for implementing practices that protect the environment, enhance community interests, and strengthen the economic bottom line of businesses. We are ready to roll out our charter businesses and hope that you can be one of the five we will complete and highlight on Earth Day.
Our committee includes representatives from: the City of Alton; Principia College; Madison County; Day & Night Solar; Illinois Sierra Club; LCCC; Day and Night Solar; and Alton Main Street.
Our partners include: Riverbend Growth Association; OneSTL; and SWIC.
We are having our first public event Tuesday, April 22nd Click HERE for the flyer.
Are you interested in “greening” your business, but not sure where or how to start? A local, volunteer led effort called the Green Business Alliance is here to help. Come out to Lewis and Clark Community College on Earth Day (Tuesday, April 22, from 7:30-10am) for a morning of networking and information sharing about how you can “Go Green.” Volunteers with the GBA and students in Lewis and Clark’s SCORE Club will be on hand to help you explore and complete the “Green Business Checklist,” a list of actions you can take to save money while protecting the planet.
Contact Nate Keener at 618-468-2782 or nkeener@lc.edu for more information or to register. Those wishing to attend must RSVP.
