In recognition of American Stroke Month, OSF Saint Anthony’s Health Center is presenting two free Lunch & Learn sessions about stroke awareness for both the community and the Health Center Mission Partners. A free box lunch and refreshments will be provided. To register, call 618-465-2264.

Noon, Wednesday, May 27 in the OSF Saint Anthony’s Perpetual Help Center.
The presenter will be Dr. Karna Sherwood, neurologist with Saint Anthony’s Physician Group, and the topic: Stroke Awareness. The informative sessions will help participants know, identify and react to signs and symptoms of a stroke.
Stroke is a disease that affects the arteries leading to and within the brain. It is the fifth leading cause of death in the United States and a leading cause of adult disability, according to the American Stroke Association.
OSF Saint Anthony’s is a member of the Mid America Stroke Network. Launched by Saint Louis University Hospital in 2008, the Network is committed to providing current and clinically-effective stroke care to patients in the member hospitals’ respective communities. The Network is the first and only one of its kind in the region.
