Every year, hundreds of bald eagles travel to the area to make their winter homes. The Bald Eagle Program at Pere Marquette gives visitors an opportunity to learn about these creatures as well as see them in their natural habitat. The program begins at the Pere Marquette Visitors Center where visitors will learn how distinguish between immature and mature bald eagles, what eagles eat, why they spend winter months in the area, and much more. Then visitors will join in a convoy around the area to bald eagle hotspots, where they will see wild bald eagles first hand. Please be sure to dress warmly, have a full tank of gas and bring binoculars! Reservations are required. Call 618-786-3323 to reserve your spot.
