Meet those who are living, training and working at 1411 Locust as they participate in New Life’s Leadership Training Programs.
Since 1976 New Life Evangelistic Center has had a hotel permit granting it the right to shelter its trainees, staff and homeless at that location. Now rich developers and condominium owners are trying to get the St. Louis Board of Public Service to take away this hotel permit in order to drive the homeless, most of whom are African American out of the downtown area. Rev. Larry Rice and the staff of New Life Evangelistic Center for 40 years has provided shelter and transitional housing for the homeless at 1411 Locust.
