The National Park Service, in partnership with the St. Louis Astronomical Society, invites visitors of all ages to explore the St. Louis night sky with Gateway to the Stars, a free stargazing event under the Gateway Arch. This program focuses on St. Louis history and astronomy exploration, and includes free telescope viewing from the foot of the Arch.
Guests will meet at the north leg of the Gateway Arch at 7 p.m. for a twilight walk and discussion led by park ranger Rich Fefferman. Attendees will learn firsthand about the history and various incarnations of the Arch Grounds, from its beginnings as a French colonial village to the present day home to the Gateway Arch.
Pending clear skies, free telescope viewing led by the St. Louis Astronomical Society will follow the tour.
