An exhibition featuring art created by incarcerated or paroled artists. Friday, April 18, 2014 at Spirits Lounge, 300 State St. Alton, IL 62002.
The sale and promotion of this art and the artists may be contreversial to some. However, even though these artists are no longer free, their art is completely original. There are no art supply stores in prisons. The canvases are made from drop cloths, the frames, molds and materials are created, found or fabricated using creative and inventive methods. As an inmate is moved from one location to another, the art is not moved with him and is then destroyed.
