Alton Little Theater has the Cure for the Winter Blahs!

(Alton, IL - January 26, 2010) � ALT will present the witty and darkly funny caper, AUDACITY by Simon Mawdsley, February 12th through the 21st at the Showplace, 2450 N. Henry Street, Alton, IL. The British comedy is directed by Mark Hilgert and features a talented ensemble cast of: Barry Thornell, Ian Hardin, Tonya Nix, Warren Frank and Elaine Myers.

The timely production takes a stab at unemployment, marital strife, living beyond one�s means, age discrimination and the like much like the popular movie �Fun with Dick and Jane�. In AUDACITY, a trio of three very-unlikely first-time crooks try to improve their lots in life by robbing a London Department Store. When their wives catch on � hilarity and plot twists ensue.

Director Mark Hilgert likes the �edge and grit� of the production and has conceived a new format of staging for the show which does deal with adult themes and language and is not recommended for children. Adult audiences will surely identify with the economic frustrations the players face � and will undoubtedly get a cathartic release from the clever plan three men devise to �get even�. �A little honesty about greed never hurt anyone�, says Hilgert.
