Relay Event Slated Overnight on First Friday in June
(JERSEYVILLE, IL � April 13, 2009) � There are many opportunities scheduled where you can help in the battle against cancer. Teams are holding fundraisers in the upcoming weeks as they prepare for Jersey County�s annual Relay event. Keep watching for more opportunities as they become scheduled and announced.
Jerseyville Wal-Mart Supercenter�s team, the Mardi Gras Gang, is hosting a yard sale on April 25th at 1012 West County Road in Jerseyville from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. All of the proceeds from the yard sale will benefit the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Jersey County. Also, on May 9th, the team will hold a cookout and bake sale out in front of the Jerseyville Wal-Mart Supercenter from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Hot dogs, chips, soda, and a cookie will be available for $3.00; a brat or burger, chips, soda, and a cookie will be available for $4.00. Olin Community Credit Union�s Jerseyville Relay team will be hosting a rummage sale at the Susnig Civic Center in Jerseyville on May 2nd from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. All of the proceeds from the rummage sale will benefit the ACS Relay For Life of Jersey County as well. The River Clan Relay For Life Team is presenting A Tribute to Elvis featuring Steve Davis and friends on May 16th at the Loading Dock in Grafton. The doors will open at 5 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale now with reserve tickets available at $20 per person. You can reserve a table of eight or more in advance.
