National Charity Supports Riverbend Head Start & Family Services
(Madison County October 1, 2009) �New York City-based Kids in
Distressed Situations, Inc. has added Riverbend Head Start & Family Services
to its membership. As a result, the local nonprofit will receive donations
of new children's clothing and products to distribute to its clients.
Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc. (K.I.D.S.) brings hope and self-esteem
to more than 4 million children and their families each year by providing
new clothes, shoes, toys, furniture, books and juvenile products donated by
manufacturers and retailers.
The donations move through a network of nearly 1,000 community social
service agencies, like Riverbend Head Start & Family Services, in the U.S.
and abroad. Their efforts reach children who are challenged by poverty,
homelessness, domestic abuse, low literacy, military family service, major
illness, incarcerated family members and disaster survival.
Riverbend Head Start & Family Services meets the needs of over 1,300
impoverished infants, toddlers and preschoolers in Madison County. Agency
president Chuck Parr said, "This membership will give us one more way to
help."
