CONDUCTS ITS 35TH COMMENCEMENT OF GRADUATING SENIORS
Alton�s Mississippi Valley Christian School, the former Western Military Academy, will conduct its 35th commencement of graduating seniors this Friday, May 22, at 7 p.m.
Thirteen graduates�seven young women and six young men--will receive their diplomas on the very platform from which, many years ago, Cadets received their final commendations upon completion of formal military training. With the goal of excellence in education rooted in love for God and country, the Seminary Street campus continues to perpetuate its long and illustrative history of preparing young men and women through Mississippi Valley Christian School. The composite average national A.C.T. ranking of the MVCS class of 2009 is a notable 25.1.
MVCS is a ministry of Faith Baptist Church, 7505 N. Humbert Road in Godfrey. Pastor Tom Olney attributes the success of Mississippi Valley to, �Acknowledging from the very beginning that this is God�s school, not ours.�
