Eardley took over Gerard Fischer’s Godfrey office in February after Fischer’s retirement. She noted that it’s been “a whirlwind,” but a lot of fun to get to know the community and develop relationships with her clients.

“I’m meeting a lot of new people, which is great, and reconnecting with the community, with those I’ve known in the past, since I’ve grown up here. It’s been a lot of fun, great learning experiences, great connections with the community,” Eardley said.

It’s important to Eardley to learn more about her clients. She wants to know their stories and what matters most to them so she can help them protect these assets.

Eardley recognizes Fischer’s legacy in the American Family world, and she is thankful that he has served as a “mentor” to her in the past few months. She is working hard to show clients that she is there for them and eager to help.

“I want to be able to get to know them,” she said. “The biggest learning curve, I will say, is really just the transition. Everyone knew Gerard for so long. When you’re protecting the things that matter most in that household, to go to somebody completely new, how do you combat that? The biggest thing I’ve been trying to do is inviting those that have insurance with us for personal insurance reviews. I want to get to know their stuff. I want to know everything about it.”

Eardley recognizes that most people are struggling right now. Through these personal insurance reviews, she wants to help her clients maximize their savings. When a new client comes to her office on Godfrey Road, she gets to know them and their priorities so she can help them find the policy that works best for their life.

“The biggest focus for myself at the office is getting to know all the clients and everything, making sure they are getting the best savings that they can,” she said. “The economy right now, everything is very expensive. The cost of goods costs a lot. I want to be able to look at their package and say, ‘Hey, are you getting all the savings that you can possibly get?’”

As part of Eardley’s goal to get involved with the community, she joined the North Alton-Godfrey Business Council (NAGBC). These monthly meetings allow her to meet more business owners and reconnect with the Riverbend region.

Eardley has been pleasantly surprised to be welcomed by the community. Even her competitors are friendly, and she has enjoyed getting to know these people and navigating business alongside them.

Going forward, Eardley hopes to continue to develop these relationships. She cares about the people she works with, and she wants to make sure her clients have the best coverage possible. As part of that goal, she will continue to engage with the NAGBC and the Riverbend region.

“I want to just continue building that face for the community, knowing that they can come to me, ask for help. It doesn’t even have to be insurance-related,” she added. Getting more involved in the community, that’s my goal. Growth is everything, but just building those lasting relationships.”
