to hold Riverjam '09 at New Riverfront Amphitheater
Riverbend Youth on Fire (RYOF) was started 4 years to help strengthen our area young people, regardless of denomination. Our mission is to provide consistent youth support and a facility to house ongoing youth activities. Our heart is to give youth a venue to unite with other christian young people who are like-minded. A place to share their faith, a place to bring their friends, and a place to refuel and experience life changing encounters with God. Giving them the tools that will help them build up their own church youth groups, their families, and thus our communities. In 2007, RYOF invited author, speaker, and teacher Josh McDowell to teach a parent seminar at Civic Memorial High School and lead a pastor workshop for area ministers. The same weekend Mr. McDowell also addressed hundreds of youth, touching on the areas of relationships and defending their faith. Last year RYOF once again "raised the bar" reaching over 3000 area youth and their families, by hosting an event called "Tunes on the Tarmac". This event consisted of a free pre-concert party on the grounds of St. Louis Regional Airport in Bethalto, IL., which the led up to a concert held in one of the airport's largest hangers, featuring popular Christian recording artists. They have done it again this year...Only BIGGER. Riverjam '09 is scheduled for Saturday September 26 at the Alton Riverfront Amphitheater featuring BarlowGirl and Superchick LIVE in concert with special guests VOTA. The free pre-concert party will return from 1:00 to 5:00pm featuring many great local musicians and bands, inflatable games, food, service opportunities, giveaways, and various activities for the whole family to enjoy. Tickets for the main concert are limited and can be purchased for $10.00 throught, itickets.com, Family Christian Bookstore in Alton, Budget Signs and Trophies in Wood River, and The First National Bank of Bethalto..Gates will open at 5:00px with concert starting at 6:00 PM.
