The accounting firm, People in Business, Inc., is offering Business Planning and Financing workshops on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is $60 per person. There is a lunch break from 11 a.m. - Noon and an open forum question and answer period following each class. All classes are taught by a CPA with experience in commercial banking and business plan writing.
The workshops include information for starting, planning, or reorganizing a business to produce a profit and control expenses. The class includes budgeting, forecasting, analyzing finances; selecting appropriate models for developing a target market; structuring and mapping procedures for personnel decisions, long-term purchases and operations.
The current economic environment requires every business to reassess their current business plan and compose an alternative strategy to meet changing circumstances. The business plan and the financial projections should provide a guide for surviving in the increasingly competitive market environment. It also provides a measurement model for tracking monthly performance and remaining flexible as events occur in your company.
This class is useful for anyone seeking to start a business. It will provide the guidelines for establishing an effective business plan and understanding the steps required for starting a business.
Each class will include a segment about commercial loan financing, SBA Loan guarantees, and alternative financing requirements. An attorney will be available for questions after some of the classes.
Workshops are scheduled weekly on most Saturdays. March and April dates are as follows: March 28, April 11, 18, and 25, 2009. Class attendance is limited to eight participants. Textbooks are provided for in-class use. If you wish to purchase a text for your personal notes, the book is Ultimate Small Business Advisor, by Andi Axman.
