QuickBooks and Bookkeeping Classes to be Offered at SIUE

Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville will be offering two new business courses through their Leisure Learning program during the Fall Semester 2009. The classes are Bookkeeping Basics and QuickBooks.

Bookkeeping Basics will be scheduled on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. from September 23 to October 28, 2009. This class is designed for people who are bookkeepers, managers, business owners, and job seekers. Topics include bookkeeping procedures, understanding the balance sheet, income statement, cash flows, posting transactions, adjusting entries, closing the books, payroll, and depreciation. Cost is $164.

QuickBooks will be scheduled in two identical Saturday sections. Section1 is offered on September 12 and 19 from 9:00 to 12:00 a.m. and in Section 2 on November 7 and 14 from 9:00 to 12:00 a.m. Topics include establishing an efficient chart of accounts, navigating QuickBooks screens and menus, customer entries, inventory tracking, accrual entries, invoicing, job estimates, undeposited funds, credit card accounts, transfers, reconciliations, payroll, and more. Cost is $129.
