Mississippi Valley Christian School Boys� Basketball Team
Takes Second Place at State
Alton�s Mississippi Valley Christian School boys� basketball team carried home the state Class A second place trophy from Schaumburg this past weekend in the Illinois Association of Christian School basketball finals. The Mississippi Valley Warriors defeated Southside of Chicago 67-61, but lost to Calvary Baptist of Chillicothe 75-60 in the championship game.
Mississippi Valley�s senior Derwin Bryan of Godfrey was named Most Valuable Player of the state, teammate Marcus Bernhard of Fosterburg was named to the All-Tournament Team, and the Sportsmanship trophy was awarded to the MVCS team.
