EDWARDSVILLE: The next meeting of People in Business will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2009 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at GC Cuisine of Edwardsville, IL. Lynn and Dick Slackman will be the guest speaker for the meeting. They will speak about Networking on the Internet. Presentation will include an introduction to LinkedIn, FaceBook, blogging, & Twitter.
�The internet has become an essential part of the business environment. More and more customers are making their purchases on the internet, as well as, using the internet to find local products & services,� said Dick Slackman, owner of Tenby Technologies. He continued, �Businesses and organizations can use networking on the internet to augment in-person networking. Our goal is to help business and organizations, especially in the metro area, use the internet more effectively."
Lynn & Dick Slackman are the owners of tenby technologies, a web design and internet marketing firm based in Shiloh. They are long time residents of the metro-east area.
Both have over 30 years of experience in Information Technology, including work with fortune 500 companies like Union Pacific Railroad and AT&T
Lynn has BS in Business from McKendree & MBA from SIUE. Dick has BS in Mathematics from SIUE and MS in Computer Science from the University of Missouri-Rolla, and holds two IT patents.
The People in Business networking group invites men and women of the business community to their upcoming meetings. Visitors are encouraged to attend at all locations. This group is designed to help build a support system and outreach connection for companies. It provides an informal networking format and a convenient information exchange resource group. Membership is free. The $5.00 attendance fee includes a snack breakfast and a drink.
