Alton's very own Cottonmouth is an all original band that got their start in the 80's.
They have traveled the world and toured over the past two decades releasing numerous albums and a single getting extensive radio air play.
Cottonmouth was very structured in the early days but now prefer to just turn on the amps and go. Whatever comes out gets recorded in their Alton studio.
October 23, 2001 Drummer Butch McMaster, was taken from them due to an automobile accident while on his way to work. Butch was the heart and soul of Cottonmouth and could never be replaced. Leaving singer Johnny Bash, guitarist Darren Gruen and bassist Alex Honke, who joined the band in the late 1990's to find a drummer that could live in the shadows of such a legacy.
Travis Puhse was willing to take on the challenge and give up his time to dedicate his soul to the cause.
Cottonmouth returns November 1st at The Cellar Room in Alton, IL. playing a breast cancer benefit for Judy Cloninger (Ragusa).
The Benefit will feature Live Music, Silent Auction, Food, Raffles, Games, Prizes, and so much more.

The guys are excited to be back and hoping to see all of their old friends and followers to join them in supporting a good cause! So Cottonmouth Fans come on out to the Cellar Room November 1st in Alton and welcome the new drummer, Travis Puhse! Cottonmouth takes stage at 7pm. No Cover Charge.
