East End Improvement Association
Announces Godfrey Candidates and Alton Candidates Forum
In partnership with the North Alton-Godfrey Business Council ("NAGBA") The Telegraph and WBGZ Radio, the East End Improvement Association ("EEIA") is proudly sponsoring 2 candidates forums for the upcoming local elections on April 7, 2009.
The first event for the Godfrey Candidates will be held at the Godfrey Knights of Columbus Hall located at 1713 Stamper Lane, Godfrey, Illinois, beginning at 7pm on March 11, 2009. The Moderator for the forum will be former Telegraph Publisher Don Miller.
The second event for the Alton Candidates will be held at the Alton Holiday Inn, 3800 Homer Adams Parkway, Alton, Illinois at 7pm on March 18, 2009. Moderator for the Alton forum will be Steve Schwartz.
In both the above forums, Candidates for Mayoral; Aldermanic; Trustee and Supervisor positions will be invited to attend.
The format for both forums will be as follows;
- Each Aldermanic, Township or Trustee candidate will opposition will be asked to speak on his/her candidacy for a maximum of three(3) minutes. Each candidate will be available to answer questions at the conclusion of the respective forum.
- Each Mayoral Candidate will be asked to speak on his candidacy for a maximum of five (5) minutes. There will be a series of questions asked of each candidate to be answered ono a rotational basis about issues pertinent to the Village of Godfrey or City of Alton issues. These questions will be solicited for the audience and be screened by the East End Improvement Association.
Unopposed candidates have been invited to attend, and if in attendance, will be available for questions after the forum.
Each forum will be broadcast LIVE on RiverBender.com and recorded by WBGZ Radio for replay at a date to be determined.
