(Alton, IL) – Alton Marketplace and Riverbender.com are pleased to announce the six Metro East bands that have been chosen to perform their original music at The BIG GIG Local Music Show set for Saturday, August 1st (3pm-10pm) at the Alton Riverfront Amphitheater:

Tickets are on sale now at the Jacoby Arts Center (627 East Broadway - Alton, IL) Gallery Hours - Monday: Closed, Tues - Sat: 10am – 5pm, Sunday: Noon – 4pm

2 original songs by each band can be heard on the website.

Ticket buyers will vote for their favorite band, and the band that sells the most tickets during the pre-sale window (June 15th – July 15th) will receive the headliner spot & prize package. A live feed of the event will be broadcast on www.Riverbender.com/music.

Tickets are $10.00 in advance / $12 at the door, and $1.00 from every ticket sold will be donated to the Jacoby Arts Center to advance their live music endeavors.

A pre-show party and meet & greet with the bands will be held at The Temple (300 State Street in Alton) on Saturday, July 11th from 9pm-1am. Tickets will be available in the lobby, and your pre-sale ticket stub will gain you access into the party and a complimentary promotional disc featuring 2 songs by each band.
