Hayner Public Library’s Mary Cordes joins Our Daily Show to discuss the library’s busy fall schedule and programs that bring people together. October offerings include a free Medicare 101 class, a drop-in crafting session and an introductory meeting for a social club for seniors at the Mall Library in Alton.
Cordes also describes the Cookbook Club, an AARP online session on estate-planning tools, the Illinois Heartland Library System Library Crawl, an adult fall scavenger hunt and Food for Fines, which benefits the Crisis Food Center. Family activities include a Halloween costume swap and a miniature parade contest. The conversation also covers Hayner’s Library of Things, with items patrons can borrow, and a planned recording of a full Charlotte Johnson presentation.
