Rhonda Brown on ‘Red Hot Patriot,’ the one-woman show about Molly Ivins coming to Elsah

On Our Daily Show, Rhonda Brown and Steve Brown discuss Red Hot Patriot, a one-woman play in which Rhonda portrays journalist and political columnist Molly Ivins. The production was planned for Farley’s Music Hall in Elsah, where the Browns hope to bring more theater, music and arts events to the village.

Rhonda talks about Ivins’s humor, career and outspoken views, and why the play’s themes—including campaign finance and civic participation—still resonate. The conversation also covers Rhonda’s experience performing alone onstage and the community’s plans for the production.
