Pat Stewart and Vice President Dennis Wilson of the Great Rivers Choral Society join Our Daily Show to discuss the choir’s 25th season and its “Many Voices, One Anthem” concert. The program ranges from classic choral and spiritual music to contemporary gospel, American work songs and global selections, including music in Latin and Swahili. The same concert will be performed Friday at 7 p.m. at New Bethel United Methodist Church in Glen Carbon, Saturday at 3 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Alton, and Sunday at 3 p.m. at Godfrey First United Methodist Church. Admission is free, with a freewill offering welcomed.
The guests also describe the choir’s community performances and invite singers of all experience levels to join. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. at the Methodist church on Airport Road in Godfrey; the annual membership fee is $75. The choir’s website has membership information and details about upcoming performances.
