Hope Animal Rescue’s Music Bingo Fundraiser and November Charity Gala

Hope Animal Rescue’s Jackie Spiker joins Our Daily Show to discuss the rescue’s work and two fundraisers. The first is a music bingo night on Saturday, October 3, at Wood River Sportsmen’s Club in Godfrey. Doors open at 6 p.m. and games start at 7 p.m.; admission is $25 per player. The event includes music-themed bingo, with proceeds supporting the rescue. Spiker says the venue has a 300-person capacity and more than 200 people had signed up at the time of the interview.

Spiker describes Hope Animal Rescue’s mission of taking in dogs from animal control and urgent situations, including recent cases involving a commercial breeder and hoarding situations in Granite City. The rescue has 87 rooms and works to match dogs with homes. She also discusses volunteer opportunities and how donations support expenses such as veterinary care, food, utilities and repairs.

The conversation also covers Hope Animal Rescue’s charity gala, “A Night in Paris,” planned for November 7. Spiker says it will feature a catered dinner, open bar, live music by Soul Shine Groove and a live auction, with a fundraising goal of about $25,000.
