Our Daily Show explores Madison County history and upcoming Living History Days with Madison County Historical Society guests Cindy Reinhardt and Mark VonNida. They discuss the society’s archives and preservation work, local history from Cahokia Mounds to Elijah P. Lovejoy, and events planned for October 2–4, including activities at the Colonel Benjamin Stephenson House, Yanda Log Cabin and a Sunday Chautauqua. The museum is undergoing renovations and is expected to reopen in 2027.
In a conversation with Jama and Nikki, Longevity Senior Living Director of Sales and Marketing Allison Combs explains the differences among independent living, assisted living, supportive living and nursing-home care, and discusses accessibility, family planning and how to start conversations about aging-related needs.
The program also features Riverbend Patriots treasurer Wayne discussing the group’s support for veterans and first responders, including a home renovation for a widowed veteran and her children. He describes a planned hygiene-products and water distribution at Soldiers Memorial in St. Louis and a Bloody Mary contest fundraiser at VFW Post 1308 in Alton on October 4.
