As the world marks the 100th anniversary of Miles Davis’ birth, there’s no better place to celebrate his enduring influence than Alton, Illinois, where he was born. On Saturday, August 29, from 6–10 p.m., the Alton Amphitheater hosted the Alton Jazz & Wine Festival, featuring artists who embody the creativity, innovation, and fearless spirit that defined one of music’s greatest pioneers. Rather than looking back, this festival celebrates how Miles Davis’ legacy continues to inspire and shape jazz today.
