I got into my line of work because I love stories.

When I was a kid I read a lot of comic books and mythologies, and they were great for the imagination. Now that they tell me I'm a grown-up...I tell very different stories but with the same kind of open mind: news-related, public interest, local business, humanitarian stories...Instead of larger-than-life characters and sensationalized tales, let's talk about everyday folks just doing some good here and there...

We recently produced a commercial for a great local business, and friend, Fire-N-The-Hole Broadheads. We had a 'blast' working with them and while we'll spare you images from the real-world uses for these bad-boy broadheads, we thought you might like to see what they'll do to a few unlucky watermelons......
It's that time of year again, time to light up the Alton Community Tree of Lights. We stopped by for more hot cocoa and cookies, carroling, pitching in for the Salvation Army, and of course, a visit from Mayor Brant Walker as he chaired the Tree of Lights committee.
Sara McGibany with Alton Main Street invited us out again to see this year's Taste of Downtown, and we thought it would be fun to have John take us on a trip to meet with the proprietors of some of the Alton area's best restaurants and vendors.
In observance of breast cancer awareness month beck in October, the Jacoby Arts Center began planning a cause-oriented exhibit by way of artist-submitted decorative bras for display. Not only was there a strong response from the artistic community, both locally and beyond, but there were almost too...
Anna Baumgartner (Also known as “Bee”), her daughter Cathy and her granddaughter Megan show us how to make a perfect spicy pumpkin pie from scratch. The women in this family sure know how to whip it up in the kitchen! The cooks in the family are firm believers that everything tastes best...
The Alton Wood River Sportsman's Club invited us out to see their spectaular twenty-one mortar salute this Veterans' Day. President of the club, and retired Marine, Brad, delivered an impressive speech before the big show.
As the Riverbender family grows and we reach over into the St. Louis area, we thought you might like to see how the Inaugural Brew Fest at Ball Park Village went this past Saturday. We saw all kinds of food trucks, craft brewers, home brewers, and of course, lots of Cardinal Nation sights! ...
Homewood-Flossmoor traveled a long way to Edwardsville for this round of the IHSA Football Playoffs, which led to a rivetting first half and a thunderous second, and, unfortunately, a defeat for the Tigers.
We took our friend John Elafros for a trip to the Apocalypse Haunted House here at the Alton YWCA to get an inside look at what a frighteningly good time it is! Andrea Lamer with the YWCA and Tommy Riddle with Come Closer Productions assure us that not only is it a scary-good time, but it's also here...
This Saturday Alton Main Street put on this year's Fall Festival Chili Cook-Off, and oh-boy were some good eats being handed out! Great food, great weather, great folks, it sure was a good time and we hope you'll be there next year!
