These are scenes from Bethalto and the region during and after flash flooding occurred because of a torrential storm that dropped 7 inches of rain in 5 hours over the community. The Bethalto Public Works Department led by director Rod Cheatham, worked tirelessly through Tuesday night to Wednesday with police and fire members to keep the city safe. Street and road crews were also out throughout the area with IDOT, Illinois State Police, other law enforcement and fire departments working through the difficult time.
