Yvonne Lauck

 Yvonne (Thomas) Lauck, 82, died at 7:44 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017 at BJC Hospice Evelyn Center in St. Louis MO. She was born in Cobden Illinois on March 5, 1935 to the late Clarence Joseph (Joe) and Beatrice (Bea) Thomas.Yvonne grew up in Cobden where she graduated from Cobden High School.She married William “Bill” J. Lauck on March 30, 1955 in Cobden.  Later they moved to Alton, Illinois where they raised their family and shared many wonderful memories together with their children and grandchildren.  Yvonne later resided in Bethalto Illinois following the passing of her husband. It was here where she lived for 11 years with her beloved cat Willy and where she enjoyed visits from her family including her great grandchildren. Yvonne lived for her children and grandchildren.  When she wasn’t with them, she would tell stories about being with them.  Her son described her as the best person in the world. Her daughters described her as a best friend.Surviving are her children: Son and daughter-in-law, Keith T. and Susan Lauck, daughter and son-in-law Katherine L. (Kathy)(Lauck-Snell) and Paul Mayberry, daughter and son-in-law Linda L. (Lauck) and Michael Skelton; Grandchildren, Christopher M. (Laura) Lauck, Eric T. Lauck, Nicholas A. Lauck, Jason M. (Eunice) Skelton, Anna E. (Max) Snell; Great Grandchildren, Abigale (Abby) Lauck, Jack Lauck, and her faithful kitty, Willy. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.Per her wishes, she will be cremated. Burial of ashes will take place alongside her husband at the Brighton Cemetery in Brighton Illinois.Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 22, 2017 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.  Reverend Steve Rice will officiate.  Burial will be at Brighton Cemetery in Brighton, IL. Memorials may be made to PAWS’ Place Adoption Center, 130 E.
