Yvonne June Walkenbach, 82, of Granite City, IL, passed away Thurs. Oct. 10, 2018 at Mercy Rehab in Swansea, IL.
She was born June 9, 1936 in Venice, IL to the late Adam & Bertha (Seats) Beyer.
On Apr. 24, 1954, she and Robert E. Walkenbach were married in Granite City. He preceded her in death Nov. 14, 2009.
Mrs. Walkenbach owned and operated her own beauty salon out of her home for many years.
She is survived by a daughter: Cathy (Paul) Roesch of Belleville, IL; a son: Curt (Sherl) Walkenbach of Granite City; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a brother: Don (Marilyn) Beyer of Navarre, FL; and 3 sisters: Louise Henle of Maple Shade, NJ, Faye Filer of Marble Hill, MO and Mary Metzger of Granite City.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 brother and 5 sisters.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Mon. Oct. 15, 2018 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tues. Oct. 16, 2018 at St. Martin?s Cemetery in Starkenburg, MO.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
