Winnie Madison

Winnie Ruth Madison, 87, died at 4:55 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Alton Memorial Hospital.  Born August 11, 1933 in Portland, TN, she was the daughter of Claude and Etter (Hardin) Madison.  Mrs. Madison retired from the housekeeping department at St. Anthony's Hospital.  Surviving are three grandchildren, Shannon Hammond, Chris Figge, and Gene Figge, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila Rae Figge, a son, Dale Hammond, two brothers, Finis and Howard Madison, and five sisters, Edith Holcomb, Pearl Gomer, Ruby Hudson, Elva Osborne, and Catherine Madison.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.  Reverend Andre' Dobson will officiate.  Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.  CDC guidelines will be followed.  Please wear a mask when attending services.  Memorials may be made to Mothers Against Drunk Driving.  Online guestbook and information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
