Winifred Elizabeth Ricci, 94, passed away at 5:20 am Thursday, September 18, 2014 at her home with her loving family by her side.
She was born November 30, 1919 in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, the daughter of Mervin and Edith (Woods) Oetken, Sr.
She married Joseph James Ricci on November 30, 1941 in Bethalto. He preceded her in death on August 18, 2008
She is survived by three sons and their wives, Joe and Pat Ricci, Mark and Kelly Ricci and Jim and Teri Ricci and a daughter, Paula Ricci all of Bethalto; a son-in-law, Gary Elledge of Florida; a sister-in-law, Emma Stotler of Bethalto; fifteen grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Susan Ganter and Joan Elledge; a son-in-law, Joseph Ganter; a great grandson; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mervin and Oma Oetken and Robert and Elaine Oetken; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret Bowman and her husbands, Morris and Max, Virginia Voorhees and her husband Robert; a sister-in-law, Lydia Ricci; a brother-in-law, Roy Stotler and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dena and John Meldi.
Elizabeth wished no visitation. Graveside services will be private with the family at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto at 10:00 am Saturday.
Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
