Willis A. Crowe, 71, passed away at 5:56 am on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Stearns Nursing and Rehab in Granite City, IL. .
He was born on March 21, 1952, in Highland, IL the son of Harvey and Virginia (Collins) Crowe.
Willis worked for many years and retired from Olin Brass; his real passion laid with anything to do with classic cars. He found immense joy in attending car shows, rebuilding cars, swap meets, and exploring the country for various automotive events. His enthusiasm extended beyond his personal interests, as he selflessly served as a volunteer Fireman for the Bethalto Fire Department from 1988 until he became an honorary firefighter in 1995. During winters, Willis sought warmth and solace in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, a place that held a special corner of his heart..
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Jason and Jaime Crowe of New York, and Jill and Doug Egelhoff of Glen Carbon, IL; grandchildren, Shelby Lembeck of New York, Gabriel Kiefer of Glen Carbon, Katie Egelhoff of St. Louis, MO, and Madelyn Egelhoff of Shipman, IL; siblings, Harvey Crowe Jr. of Pennsylvania and Walter and Barb Crowe of Keyesport, IL; and the mother of his children, Joan Crowe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Jean Horning; and a sister, Earlene Eddy.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2023, from 5:00 pm until the time of services at 7:00 pm at the Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, IL.
Memorials may be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Foundation or the Bethalto Fire Department.
