William "Bill" S. Sutton, 84, of Bethalto, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Christian Northeast Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born on October 6, 1939, in Pleasant Hill, IL, the son of Fred and Morene "Toots" (Stevens) Sutton. He married Diana K. Harvey in East Alton on October 23, 1960.
Bill worked for over 30 years as a salesman for Wonder Bread. He loved all sports, especially watching his grandchildren play their games, Illini, St. Louis Cardinals and high school athletics. Bill loved spending time with his friends and family.
Along with his wife, Diana, he is survived by his children, Randal Sutton of Oxford, MS, and Traci Sutton of Moro; a sister, Shirley Kleeman of Bethalto; five grandchildren, Kayla Klocke, Kori (Todd) Hacher, Taylor (Taylor) Payne-Bedar, Wyatt (Kenzie) Sutton, and Dylan Sutton; and three great-grandchildren, Bailey, Carson, and Reagan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Jim and Carl Sutton.
Per his wishes, cremation rites were accorded by Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
The family will host a celebration of life on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Laux Brickhouse in Bethalto from 1 to 5 pm.
