William Mohr

William Shane Mohr, 60, died unexpectedly Thursday morning, November 26, 2015 in the emergency room at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville.He was born in Jerseyville on December 29, 1954, one of five children born to William Dale & Betty L. (Willis) Mohr.Shane was a 1973 graduate of Jersey Community High School, and had been employed with Smith Pest Control in Jerseyville for the last 27 years, where he established many close friends and earned the trust of many.He was a quiet, unassuming man, who had a heart of gold.  He quietly lent a helping hand to anyone in need, was a loving and caring son, brother & uncle, and assisted in the care of several elderly family members throughout the years.  He loved to have his family in one place, sharing with them his talents in cooking, barbecuing, or sharing his treats from his expansive garden.He is survived by his mother, Betty Mohr of Jerseyville; a sister, as well as his twin, Elaine Fowler of Jerseyville; two brothers, Craig Mohr of Jerseyville and David Mohr of Naples, Fl.; a niece and her husband, Sara & Joe Banks of Columbus, Ga.; two nephews, Chad & Amy Mohr of Jerseyville, and Bryan Mohr of Dayton, Ohio;  a great nephew and a niece, Judah Banks and Leighton Mohr; as well as his family at work, Doug "Smitty" Smith, Lori Crowe and Brent Fitzgibbons whom he thought the world of; and his aunt, Verda Russell of Fidelity.He was preceded in death by his father, William Dale Mohr; a sister, Christy Jane Mohr on Jan. 6, 2014;a  nephew, Christopher Mohr; and his grandparents, John William  & Gertrude Mohr, William & Stella Willis, and Myrtle Willis.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday.Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to the Riverbend Humane Society in Jerseyville.
